Low Cost Therapy
What we offer:
Our counselling and psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes long, working one-to-one with a therapist. All our therapists work with a philosophical framework to help you gain understanding and perspective on your problems. Therapy provides a supportive and sometimes challenging environment in which self-discovery and reflection will help you take stock and make new choices for the future.
Our low cost therapy services are provided by doctoral students in existential psychotherapy and counselling psychology. Our students are practising counsellors or psychotherapists who are currently studying for a doctoral degree.
All our student therapists are supervised by Prof. Emmy van Deurzen or Prof Digby Tantam, our Directors of Dilemma and Principal of the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling.
What is existential counselling and therapy?
The existential tradition is best known for helping people to find purpose and meaning in life and come to terms with the paradoxes, conflicts and dilemmas of the human condition. We work with anything that is of concern to you, from problems in everyday living, relationship difficulties, anxiety, fear or stress, to specific issues such as mood swings, social anxiety, panic, trauma, loss, low self-esteem, unresolved childhood issues, sexual difficulties, eating problems and many others.
Sessions are charged at £25 per hour.
